We are Medaxes. And we are so proud. For 20 years, we have actively contributed to high quality healthcare in Belgium. The off-patent medicines our members bring to market have yielded nearly two billion euros of savings in the medicines budget up to now. They are a key driver of accessible, affordable and sustainable healthcare.
Yet, there are many challenges ahead to keep healthcare accessible for future generations, continuous pressure on the budget being a major one. We are convinced we can face these challenges in co-operation and partnership with other stakeholders. It is vital, however, that our members can continue to safeguard patients’ access to medicines in a sustainable economic climate. Healthy competition and a supportive regulatory framework are important contributors to this. We believe that only then, we can keep our healthcare futureproof.
The Medaxes Day will kick off our next journey. Our keynote speakers at the event, Dr. Sarah Garner (WHO) and Mr. Yannis Natsis (ESIP) will guide us with their insights and a debate with the Minister of Social Affairs and Public Health, Mr. Frank Vandenbroucke, will allow to challenge all views.
Join us in our ambition to create breathing space in the restricted medicines budget while maintaining or improving standards of care for future generations. That is our offer.
Who could afford to say no to that?
